Honeybees As Part of the Larger Pollinator Complex
Just because a bee visits a flower does not mean that it is a good pollinator of flowers. By some estimates, ~70% of pollination services for native plants in our area are provided by native solitary bees and not the honey bee. Pollination is an extremely important ecosystem services that insects provide. Let’s take a look at the whole picture.
