SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 8 at Bartram’s Garden
Bring a picnic lunch if you like or see what’s cookin’ at the lunch carts! Guerrilla UltimaLocal 215, and Little Baby’s Ice Cream will all be on site!

9:30am, 11:30am, and 1:30pm  45-minute Schuylkill River Cruise, departing from the Bartram’s Garden dock. Travel up Philly’s “Hidden River” with Patriot Harbor Lines and check out the Fairmount Water Works, city skyline and more! Tickets are $17 and can be purchased in advance at: http://www.zerve.com/PhillyByBoat/Honey.

10am to 12pm  Special Appearance by Buzzbee and the B101 Bee Crew! B101 will be playing some great music, doing temporary tattoos and offering lots of free treats!

10am to 4pm  Annual Fall Plant Sale – all day long!  Come learn what you should be planting in the fall so as to encourage spring pollinators.  Bartram’s Gift Shop and the Green Room will be open for your enjoyment. Check out the plant sale list here!

10am to 3pm  Family Discovery Day Visit our science stations, make a beeswax candle, build your own bee costume and march in the Be-a-Bee Pageant at 12:15pm and 2:15pm!

10:15am, 1pm, 3pm  Open Hive Talks will be presented by members of the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild.

11am and 2pm  Honey Extractions will be presented by members of the Philadelphia Beekeepers Guild.

How to Brew Honey Beer at HomeGetting Started, with Jimmy McMillan, co-owner of Philly Home Brew in Philadelphia.  (stick around for the beer tasting in the afternoon)!

11am to 11:45pm  Don Shump will be exhibiting his “bee beard!” Come watch Shump as he forms a beard made entirely of bees on his face!

12pm  FREE Guided Tour of the Urban Nutrition Initiative (UNI) Farm & Orchard at Bartram’s Garden.  Buy local at the UNI Farmstand!

11am to 3pm  Come make your own printed tote or tee shirt! Local artists Allna Josan and Sophie White will help you screen print your own bee and pollinator themed creations. T-shirts and tote bags will be available for purchase or bring your own materials to print on!

1pm to 2pm  Warren Graham of the Philadelphia Beekeepers’ Guild will give the keynote speech for the festival entitled “A Beekeeper’s Year.” Graham is a second-generation beekeeper from Chester County.

1pm and 3pm  Guided Tours of the Bartram House and of Bartram’s Gardens ($12 adults; $10 students & seniors)

3:30PM to 4pm  Screening of the award-winning film More Than Honey.
