HONEY FEST is right around the corner!
Friday, Sept 10 to Sunday, Sept 12.The Guild is excited about LIVE Honey Fest this year: we will be having plenty of bee-related activities – open hive talks, honey extraction demonstration, observation hive, honey tasting and sales and the bee beard.
There will be food trucks and nature and bee-related vendors and information, music, and children’s activities. At Glen Foerd we will also have honey-themed cocktails; at Wyck we will hear about making kombucha from honey and hear about the early history of beekeeping in Germantown from Miranda Mote; and at Bartram’s Garden Merissa McDonald will describe the cultural significance of honey – and of course, there will be a bee parade!
